    Ski/Snowboarding Disiplines

    • Deer Valley is Ski Only
    • Park City Mountain Resort is Skiing and Snowboarding

    # of People in a Private Lesson

    • Deer Valley allows up to 5 people in the same Private Lesson
    • Park City Mountain Resort allows up to 6 people in the same Private Lesson

    Ski Ability

    • Group Lessons are grouped by Age of Participants and then Ability
    • Private Lessons can have multiple Ski/Snowoard Abilities, but the Instructor will teach (and the Terrain will be limited) to the lowest ability level.

    Age Groups

    • Deer Valley Resort Age Groups for Group Lessons are as follows:
      • Adult (Ages 16+)
      • Teen Escape (Ages 13 - 17) - Offered On Limited Dates Only
      • Adventure Club (Ages 7 - 12) - 10:00AM to 03:45PM (with Lunch Break)
      • Reindeer Club (Ages 5 - 6) - 10:00AM to 03:45PM (with Lunch Break)
      • Bambi Club (Age 4) - 09:00AM - 04:00PM (with Lunch and Ski Time)
      • Fawn (Age 3) - 08:30AM - 04:30PM (Daycare with 1 Hour of Skiing)
    • Park City Mountain Resort Age Groups for Group Lessons are as follows:

      • Ages 5 - 6

      • Ages 12 - 15
      • Ages 15+

  • Deer Valley Ski Ability Levels...

    First Timer (FT)
    Never skied before or is unable to stop in a wedge on the easiest of green trails. Learning to stop in a wedge and turn in both directions for speed control.

    Beginner (BG)
    Can control speed by linking turns and stopping in a wedge on green terrain.
    Learning to match skis and skid turns to explore green trails on the mountain.

    Advanced Beginner (AB)
    Can link turns with mostly parallel skis to control speed.
    Can stop when desired on ALL green and easy blue trails.
    Learning to comfortably make parallel turns on blue terrain.

    Intermediate (IN)
    Can consistently make parallel turns to control speed on most blue terrain.
    Working on technique in a variety of snow conditions, varying turn size and shape.
    Learning to carve on blue terrain.

    Advanced (AD)
    Can carve parallel skis more than skidding.
    Can vary turn size and shape as desired to control speed on ALL blue and double blue terrain.
    Exploring black terrain.

    Expert (EX)
    Can perform dynamic skiing in almost all conditions/terrain with confidence. Exploring extremes.
