Attendance & Tuition Policies

Attendance Policy

Membership in CDCC is an honor. Singers are expected to participate for the entire season. Each member plays an important part in the success and growth of the choir; therefore, consistent attendance is expected.

Students are allowed no more than 3 unexcused absences. Students exceeding this limit will be in jeopardy of losing their position in choir. An example of an excused absence would be for illness, death of a family member, and unavoidable schedule conflicts that have been communicated to your choir director and received prior approval.

Tuition Policy

If a student’s tuition has not been paid by the due date, that student will be considered unexcused until such time as tuition is paid. After three unexcused absences, the student’s position may not be held. Any tuition not paid by July 31, 2025, will be assessed a $30 late fee. If you foresee difficulty meeting this payment schedule, please contact our office immediately. We will make every effort to work with you, but a payment plan must be established prior to July 31, 2025. Please do not wait until after July 31 to address payment concerns.

CDCC expects participants to commit to the entire season and CDCC tuition is non-refundable. However, we understand extenuating circumstances may prohibit you from continued participation. Extenuating circumstances include a move out of the area, a death in the family and other life-altering situations. In these situations, we will consider a refund on a case-by-case basis. Unexpected scheduling conflicts do not constitute an extenuating circumstance.

Choir Commitment & Tuition Agreement

* I understand that my child, as a member of CDCC, needs to make singing a high priority and be a member of CDCC for the entire season.

* I understand that my child(ren) need(s) to be a member of their school choir, band or orchestra to participate in CDCC’s middle or high school choirs (Kantorei, Angelica and Cantus). In order to develop to their fullest potential, we strongly encourage our singers to participate in their school choir if at all possible.

* I understand my child(ren) may be asked to miss ½ day of school for educational outreach performances.

* I agree to pay full tuition or set-up an online automatic credit card withdrawal payment plan by July 31, 2025. I also understand that a late fee of $30 will be applied if a tuition payment is not paid by July 31, 2025.

* I understand tuition and registration fees are non-refundable.

* I have read and understand the attendance policy and tuition policy.

Publicity Release

I give permission for my child(ren)’s name(s), likeness and images of my child(ren), captured on behalf of Central Dakota Children's Choir through video, photo and digital camera to be used for Central Dakota Children’s Choir publications and media. I understand these may be used in print publications, online publications, presentations, websites and social media. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall be come payable to me by reason of such use. I hereby release and discharge Central Dakota Children's Choir from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with Central Dakota Children’s Choir’s exercise of the rights granted herein.

Waiver and Release of Claims/Authorization of Treatment

I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of illness/injury to participate in this program, and I agree to assume the full risk of any such injuries, damages, or loss regardless of severity which I or my child(ren)/ward(s) may sustain as a result of participating in any activities connected or associated with this activity. I waive and relinquish all claims that I, my insurer, or my child(ren)/ward(s) may have against the Central Dakota Children’s Choir and its officers, agents, servants, and employees from any and all claims from injuries, damages, or loss which I or my child(ren)/ward(s) may have or which may accrue to me or my child/ward on account of my participation or the participation of my child(ren)/ward(s) in this program.

In the event reasonable attempts to contact me at the above listed phone number(s) have been unsuccessful, I hereby give my consent to the administration of emergency medical treatment by any licensed health care provider and to transfer the child to any reasonably accessible hospital facility. This authorization does not cover major surgery unless the medical opinions of two other licensed physicians, concurring in the necessity for such surgery, are obtained prior to the performance of such surgery.

Parent Volunteer

As a nonprofit organization, Central Dakota Children's Choir depends heavily on volunteers. We also understand that your time is valuable and your commitments are many. Therefore, we do not expect you to volunteer for everything; however, we do ask that as a parent of a CDCC singer, you commit to volunteer at least four times throughout the season. Included in your child(ren)'s tuition is a $75 volunteer fee. At the end of the season, if you have completed your volunteer requirement, we will refund this fee.

Our most effective way of finding volunteers is through email requests, so please keep your eye out for emails from the office requesting volunteers.

The areas we need help are:
- Concert Help - usher, box office, handing out programs, photography, chaperone singers at concerts, etc.
- Equipment Help - help set up and tear down risers and other equipment
- Trailer Assistance - transport choir trailer to performances. Must have a vehicle with a reciever for a hitch.
- Baking - provide cookies or bars when needed
- Fundraising/Special Event Help
- Other Event Help - help with auditions, parent meeting, used uniform sale
- Rehearsal/Camp - help as needed with check-in, set-up, etc.
