Dear Parents,

I am writing to you because your child has been recommended to take this year’s ABRSM Exam, which will be held online. Students who successfully pass the exam may move on to the next ABRSM Grade in the fall. 

We have been preparing for these exams by doing practice exams and reviews both in class and through homework assignments. It is recommended that every student take the online practice exam to not only get a feel for which subject(s) may require more detailed practice, but also to help them become familiar with the online format. PLEASE REGISTER BELOW – DO NOT register through the ABRSM website to avoid confusion with student ID and receiving results

You will be registering your child (“candidate”) with the school  (“applicant”). I will then complete the booking process with ABRSM. If your child has taken the ABRSM exam in the past, they will have already been assigned a candidate ID, which is connected  to the email you used in the past. If this email is different from your current one, I have provided it to you below. 

You will receive a very detailed confirmation email from Suzuki Schools upon registration containing all necessary steps to take before and during the exam. Please read it carefully.

A few days prior to the start date you will receive an email directly from ABRSM with login instructions for the exam. From this point forward, any problems you may have with login or the exam itself will have to be addressed by ABRSM as I am unable to assist.

 REGISTRATION

2025 ABRSM EXAM

Exam date: You will have 28 days from the time Suzuki Schools books your exam with ABRSM. You will receive an email from ABRSM directly letting you know the exam is ready and can be accessed through your account. PLEASE DO NOT SET UP AN ACCOUNT UNLESS THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME USING ABRSM. Doing so will create a second account and the exam will not be available.

How to take the assessment: 

• Candidates take their exam in any location where they have access to a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and an internet connection. Google Chrome is recommended. When you submit this registration form you will receive a confirmation email with link to test your system.
• The exam must be taken in one sitting. ABRSM Grades 1-3 have a 90 minute time limit. Grades 4 and 5 have a 2 hour time limit.
• An adult must be present.
• The student will be video recorded for electronic proctoring purposes. PLEASE READ THIS POLICY, which provides information about the proctoring for the online Music Theory exams.
