SingYourJoy Emerge Choir
Please read carefully as this Code of Conduct has been
REVISED December 2025
SingYourJoy Children's Choruses will provide a fun, safe, welcoming environment for all involved by respecting each other and adhering to the following guidelines and rules for individual conduct at any rehearsal, performance or event:
SingYourJoy Children's Choruses respects the personal space of each member, and will not tolerate any harassment (be it emotional, physical, verbal or sexual) or abuse. This includes any actions and behaviours of singers, parents and guardians that jeopardize the safety and well-being of the participants, leader(s) or the group.
The SingYourJoy Family of Choirs is a valuable opportunity for all participants. We need to treat this gift with the greatest respect. Participants show their respect by being on time and in attendance for all rehearsals, performances and community building activities. While the SingYourJoy Leadership Team has the capacity to work with and support a range of emotional and neurodiverse needs, which we consider a tenet of our program, singers must make every attempt to respect the needs of the group and behave in a way that allows the choir as a whole to thrive.
NB: Emerge will be involved in activities and performances throughout the year. Photos and videos may be taken by audience members, families and authorized people (e.g. festival photographers, etc.). These may sometimes be used for publicity, which will help keep the choir growing and viable. Names of singers will NOT be included with any photos.
Health & Wellness:
- Do not attend in person if you are suffering from an active cold or influenza.
- Wash your hands upon entry and following the use of the washroom.
Parents and guardians are welcome to observe, as long as they are quiet and don't distract the singers from their work.
