1. What major items would you like to include in the timeline? Here are some things to consider: cocktail hour, grand entrance, welcome speech by parents, the Challah/blessing, the dinner, group photo of all of the kids, candle lighting, speeches, video montage, the Hora, the dessert, final farewell circle, etc.

2. What type of music does your child (and your child’s friends) like? And what type of music do you (and your friends) like? The regular top 40/pop hits? Any special requests? And for the grand entrance, what songs would you like?

3. Will you be ordering socks for the girls? Usually, girls like to change out of their shoes (especially high heels) and into socks.

4. How many party motivators/dancers would you like us to bring? The general rule of thumb is that there should be one party motivator for every 25 kids.

6. Are you going to have a professional photographer to cover the event?

7. Usually, we end the mitzvah party by having everyone (who is still there) get into one big circle as we do our final song. Do you want that? If so, what do you want to be the final song? Families in the past have done songs like Don’t Stop Believing or Sweet Caroline or The Time (by the Black Eyed Peas) but really, it can be anything that you feel will be a good song to end the party with an exhilarating energy?

8. Regarding the Hora, who will be going up in the chair in addition to your child? Both parents? And are there any siblings? What are the names?

9. How many guests are you expecting? How many adults? How many kids? Among the kids, what is the estimated ratio of boys to girls?

10. What games does your child and friends want to play? Here is a list of game ideas: Numbers Game, Coke & Pepsi, Pyramid, Dice Game (High/Low), Spotlight, Freeze Dance, Musical Chairs with Scavenger Hunt, Limbo, Dance Battle, Helicopter, and Trivia about GOH, Trivia for Students, Lip Sync Competition..

Coke&Pepsi --- 2 prizes

Numbers Game/Huggy Bear ----- 2 prizes

Quarter Flip: 1 prize

Instructions: First, have everyone gather in the center of the dance floor. And then, you instruct them to either go over and stand on the right side of the dance floor (if they think the coin flip will result in Heads) or stand on the left side of the dance floor (if they think the coin flip will result in Tails). After everyone makes their choice, you flip the coin and the group that guessed wrong is out of the game. You continue playing until there is only one person left, the winner.

Ultimate Rock, Paper, Sissors --- 1 prize

Instructions: Everyone gets a partner and plays a round of rock, paper, sissors. Whoever loses then goes and stands behind the winner and cheers the winner on as the winner plays against the winner of another group. Whoever wins will go play a winner of another group. Continue on until we are down to just two people playing against each other and they each have a large group of people behind them.

Birthday Groups/Wave/Circle Sit/Circle Walk --- multiple prizes

Instructions: Several groups stand in a circle on the dance floor and the sit on each other’s knees and try to walk around in a circle.

Bagel, Lox, Cream Cheese --- 2 prizes.

Instructions: Game of speed as couples try to get into the positions as the names of the positions are called out.

Limbo --- 1 prize.

Helicopter —- 1 prize

Hot Hoops --- 1 prize

Instructions: When the music stops, whoever has a hula hoop on them is out of the game.

Hula Hoop Contest… 1 prize

Musical Chairs with scavenger hunt --- 1 prize…

Instructions: When the music stops, whoever does not have a seat is out of the game.

Freeze Dance --- 1 prize.

Dance battle --- multiple prizes (one prize each round)

Here is how it works: You split everyone up into two groups, one on each side of the dance floor. And then, you name one group “Team 1” and the other group “Team 2”. And then, you explain to them that this dance battle will have multiple rounds and each round will be only around 45 seconds in duration and for each round, each team will choose just one dancer to battle against the other team’s chosen dancer. And, for each round, the teams must choose a different dancer. This game is so great because the everyone really get into as they cheer on their chosen dancer. And either the DJ or the MC determines which team wins each round…

Lip sync competition --- multiple prizes

Instructions: Groups of 2-3 people per group sign up to lip sync a song

Pyramid --- multiple prizes

Instructions: Groups of 6 people per group. Each group competes against each other to quickly build a human pyramid.

Hand Shake competition ---- Multiple prizes

Instructions: Groups of two’s. Groups compete against each other regarding who has the most creative and cool handshake
