    The BSMA is pleased to announce a ESA Viola Conversion Course for Level 3, which is being offered from January to June 2026. The course will held at QWest in Brentford, London and at the BSMA 2026 National Suzuki Workshop. Course and examination dates can be found on the BSMA website:

    There will also be an online component with dates to be confirmed. 

    The Viola Conversion Course is intended for those who wish to qualify on Viola for ESA levels they have already completed on Violin.

  • Safeguarding Policy

    To ensure that the privacy and consent of other participants can be respected, no recordings or images which include participants, adults or children, may be shared on social media platforms, or in any other public way, without explicit consent. 

    No part of any class may be recorded without the express permission of the teacher leading that session.

    The designated safeguarding lead for the BSMA is Nickie Chapman. All BSMA teachers must provide a DBS certificate, or its equivilent, and complete safeguarding training. All non-BSMA teachers must provide equivilent police checks and safeguarding certificates from their country of residence.   • Deadline for submission of registration: 01 October 2025

     

    All prospective trainees are required to submit, in advance of the course, a recording of themselves playing from memory the repertoire which is different from the pieces in Suzuki Violin Volumes 4 and 5. This may be accompanied or unaccompanied. Please submit recordings via an unlisted YouTube link to: mysieferguson@gmail.com

  • Course fees

    The cost of the course is £1000 for UK-based trainees and £1150 for non-UK.

    This includes all your tuition but not any travel, accommondation, or food. It also does not cover the cost of the exam, which is currently £130 for Level 3.

    There is a non-refundable deposit of £100 payable on application. This will be deducted from your course fees.

    Non-UK trainees will need to pay for the course in a lump sum before the course commences. UK based trainees can choose to pay by Direct Debit in 5 instalments starting from January 2026.
