  • Project Host Submission Form 2025

    Newcomer Program - Stream 2: Arts Education DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 17, 2025 @ 11:59 PM
  • Why Host an ArtWorksTO Newcomer Program Project?

As a Host Organization, you’ll play a critical role in advancing equity by supporting the career development of talented newcomer artists who are building their futures in Canada. Your commitment creates real pathways into the cultural workforce for artists who face systemic barriers.

Selected projects from Host Organizations will be matched to a Newcomer Educator. The Arts Educator will receive $5,000 from ArtWorksTO to cover their direct costs related to their involvement in the project (e.g. for their time, expertise, and related materials). Whether its developing arts-based programming, facilitating creative workshops, co-designing curriculum, or engaging with communities through participatory arts, the artist educator will bring new ideas, creativity, and lived experience, enriching your work and expanding your outreach in inclusive and meaningful ways.

Host Guidelines and Info Sessions registration and recordings are available on the Work in Culture website for your reference. If you have questions about your project idea, please contact Stephanie Draker at [stephaniedraker@workinculture.ca] or Ximena Berecochea at [ximena@torontoarts.org] for more information.

  • *** Please refer to CARFAC's artist compensation standards as a guideline to align your proposed deliverables and artist fees accordingly.

For example, depending on the audience size, the recommended average compensation rate for half-day presentation (not including material costs) is $541, which covers the planning, development, and delivery session. The flat rate for a full day (more than four hours) is $757. Additional costs may apply depending on the specifics of the project. For instance, if the session is recorded for on-demand screening, an additional fee would be required.

We strongly encourage you to consult CARFAC's artists comensation standards directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information, as rates and conditions may vary based on project details.

  • Project proposals from potential Host Organizations will be assessed and may be adjusted in line with the $5,000 value allocated to the Arts Educators by ArtWorksTO to ensure fair and equitable compensation for the work provided. For project proposals that exceed the $5,000 value, Host Organizations have the option to supplement these direct costs themselves.

  • Host Organizations are reponsible for covering indirect  costs associated with hosting the newcomer participants. These may include administrative expenses, staff time, providing workspace, and other overhead costs related to the successful implementation of the project.
