    Presentation of scholarships will be held on Saturday November 29th at 2pm.

  • Applicants will be examined on two contrasting works of their own choice.

    The total length must not exceed ten minutes.

    Applicants in instruments other than keyboard or guitar should bring an official accompanist with them to the audition. It is preferred that you do not use a backing CD. If you require an official accompanist, please contact Mr Vincent Parmeter (vincent_parmeter@uhcm.com.au) Additional charges will apply.

  • HRC SCHOLARSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • 1. Applicants must make themselves available for the date and time of the auditions. 2.The scholarship auditions will be held at the Hunter Regional Conservatorium (aka Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music), 80 Bridge Street, Muswellbrook. 3.The scholarships are open to applicants of any age and any instrument on the Conservatorium list 4. Late applications will not be processed. 5.In cases where there are no applicants for an instrument, or applicants do not meet the standard required, the scholarship will not be offered. 6. The decision of the scholarship adjudicator is final. 7.If circumstances require, the advertised adjudicator may be changed or adjudicate remotely. 8. Only the candidate and accompanist will be allowed in the audition room. 9.An official scholarship accompanist will be available for the scholarship auditions. 10. Candidates are to make contact with the accompanist two weeks prior to the date of the auditions. 11. The cost of any rehearsals with the accompanist is the responsibility of the applicant. 12. Applicants may use their own accompanist. 13. Should an applicant arrive late they will forfeit the audition. 14. The audition panel reserves the right to ask a candidate's teacher to provide a reference for the applicant. 15. Applicants may audition on more than one instrument. 16.Staff and family of staff members of the Conservatorium are eligible to enter. 17. Students who were awarded a scholarship in the current year are not eligible to apply on the same instrument the following year. 18. All successful candidates must perform at least twice at HRC performances during the scholarship period. They must be available to assist at Conservatorium events with programs, ushering etc. 19.Scholarship recipients will be required to record two updates a year to showcase their progress for promotion and social media sharing. 20. The successful applicant must give priority at all times to attendance and punctuality at scheduled lessons and notify the teacher where attendance is genuinely impossible. 21. Under Conservatorium policy, a teacher is not obliged to make up lessons missed by a student. 22. The Conservatorium reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship at any time should the scholarship terms and conditions not be met. The 2026 HRC scholarships are dependent on funding from the NSW Government. 24. The Conservatorium reserves the right to withdraw the scholarships should the funding not be received.
