The Javaris A. Brown Scholarship Award was established to support and empower young men in the Macon Bibb County area who exemplify determination and a strong commitment to personal growth through higher education. This scholarship is designed to help remove financial barriers and create opportunities for students who face systemic, economic, or social challenges that may hinder their academic and professional aspirations. By investing in these promising individuals, we aim to cultivate the next generation of leaders—young men who will not only overcome adversity, but also uplift their communities and help break cycles of disadvantage.
Eligibility Criteria
High School Senior Status: Must be a male high school senior graduating from an accredited high school within the Macon Bibb County area.

Demonstrated Financial Need: Applicant MUST provide documentation of financial need, such as proof of income. You must submit at least one of the following as forms of acceptable documentation:
- Two consecutive months of your most recent paystubs or
  - Weekly = 8 paystubs
  - Bi-Weekly = 4+
  - Semi-Monthly = 4
  - Monthly = 2
- 2024 Income Tax Retrun or
- Non-Income Declaration Form
Letter of Recommendation: Must submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, school counselor, or community leader. Letter MUST be received directly from the recommender to the J.A.B. Scholarship email at JABScholarshipfund@gmail.com.

Academic Achievement: Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale, demonstrating a commitment to academic success. Applicant MUST submit a 2024-2025 unofficial transcript.

Post-Secondary Enrollment: Must provide official proof of enrollment at an accredited post-secondary institution (college, university, or trade school) prior to the disbursement of scholarship funds.

Application Deadline: Application and ALL required documentation MUST be submitted by July 1, 2025 at 11:59 PM.
