I’m writing to respectfully urge you to sign the Responsible AI Safety and Education (RAISE) Act into law.

With artificial intelligence systems advancing rapidly, the RAISE Act establishes essential guardrails to ensure public safety and accountability—without stifling innovation. It applies only to the very largest AI developers, those spending hundreds of millions of dollars to build cutting-edge frontier models. The bill simply requires them to publish and follow basic safety protocols and report major incidents.

This is a focused, commonsense approach that balances public interest with continued economic growth and innovation.

The RAISE Act passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in both the Assembly and the Senate. And it’s backed by the public: 84% of New Yorkers support the bill’s goals.
