  • Disability-affirming counseling is a confidential process designed to help you address your concerns, come to a greater understanding of yourself and learn effective personal and interpersonal skills to help you thrive. I offer a listening and empathic place where you can get support for your unique needs.

    Confidentiality

    I will not disclose anything that is discussed within a session to anyone without your written consent. However, disclosure may be required without your consent in any of the following circumstances:

    • There are reasonable grounds to believe that there is a risk of imminent harm to you or specifically identified others and/or the abuse of children;
    • There are reasonable grounds to believe that a member of a regulated health profession has sexually abused a client; or
    • When disclosure is ordered by a court.

    Additionally, note that online communication is not 100% secure and thus confidentiality cannot be completely guaranteed.

    Sessions

    All sessions are done over video chat or a phone call. Sessions are 50 minutes in length and cannot be extended due to a late start time. For scheduling purposes, if you are late to an appointment, we may begin when you arrive, but must end at the scheduled end time. Exceptions can be made should technical difficulties arise during our virtual session.

    Fees

    Appointment fees are on a sliding scale from $65 - $105 for individuals or $100-150 for couples based on your income and needs. Appointments must be paid for on or before the day of the appointment.

    Cancellations or Rescheduling

    Should you need to cancel or reschedule your session, I request that you notify me at least 12 hours prior to your scheduled session time. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

    Accountability

    I am not a member of, or certified by, any professional governing body. However I have extensive mental health training and experience. I have a clinical supervisor who I meet with regularly. I also feel accountable to disabled community to practice in ethical and honorable ways.

    Insurance

    As I practice outside of the medical model, I do not qualify for health insurance reimbursements.
