Thank you for joining the Mama & Me Playgroup at Playpourri International. Our classes are designed to provide a welcoming environment where parents and young children can explore, learn, and connect together.
To ensure the safety, comfort, and smooth operation of our program, all participating families agree to the following terms.
1. Parent / Guardian Supervision
Mama & Me classes are parent-participation programs.
Parents or guardians remain fully responsible for supervising their child at all times during the class.
Playpourri staff guide activities, prepare the environment, and support families; however, direct supervision, care, and behaviour management of each child remains the responsibility of the attending parent or guardian.
Parents should remain within close reach of their child and assist with participation, transitions, and safety as needed.
2. Sensory Play and Exploration Materials
Early childhood programs involve hands-on exploration using a variety of materials.
Activities may include sensory materials, loose parts, natural materials, craft items, and age-appropriate play equipment.
Young children commonly explore materials by touching, tasting, or placing items in their mouths.
While Playpourri carefully selects materials that are commonly used in early childhood environments, Playpourri cannot guarantee that all materials are free from germs or that children will not mouth objects during play.
Parents must supervise their child closely during all activities and intervene if materials are used in an unsafe way.
3. Food-Based and Natural Materials
Some activities may involve materials such as:
chickpeas, rice, pasta, grains, or flour
water play
leaves, sticks, sand, or other natural items
paint, glue, play dough, or craft materials
These materials are widely used in early childhood programs but may present risks for some children.
Parents are responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for their child.
4. Allergies and Medical Conditions
Parents must inform Playpourri International in advance of any known allergies, sensitivities, or medical conditions.
Playpourri will make reasonable efforts to support families; however, due to the nature of community play environments, we cannot guarantee that the space is completely free of allergens.
Parents remain responsible for monitoring their child and determining appropriate participation in activities.
5. Health and Illness
To protect the health of our community, families should not attend class if a parent or child has symptoms of illness including:
fever
vomiting or diarrhea
contagious illness
severe cold or flu symptoms
If a child becomes unwell during the program, the family may be asked to step outside the classroom or leave early.
6. Hygiene and Shared Play Environment
Mama & Me programs involve shared toys, materials, and surfaces.
While Playpourri maintains regular cleaning practices, Playpourri cannot eliminate all exposure to germs common in early childhood play environments.
Participation indicates acceptance of this normal community risk.
7. Safety and Risk Acknowledgement
Participation in early childhood activities involves normal and foreseeable risks including but not limited to:
slips, trips, and falls
contact with play materials
sensory exploration
movement activities
By attending the program, families acknowledge that these risks are part of normal child development experiences.
Playpourri International and its staff cannot be held responsible for injuries resulting from normal play activities where reasonable care has been exercised.
8. Personal Belongings
Families are responsible for their own personal belongings.
Playpourri International cannot be responsible for lost, damaged, or misplaced items.
9. Photography and Media Use
Playpourri International may take photographs or short videos during classes to capture learning experiences and community moments.
Images may be used for:
school newsletters
website content
social media
printed materials
informational brochures
future program promotions
The purpose of sharing these images is to encourage other families to discover and benefit from our programs.
Permission for image use does not expire and allows Playpourri International to continue using previously taken images in future communications and promotional materials.
Playpourri will always aim to represent children and families respectfully.
If a family prefers that their child not appear in photographs or videos, this request must be submitted in writing prior to participation.
While Playpourri will respect such requests moving forward, we may not be able to remove images already published or distributed in past materials.
10. Participation Acknowledgement
By participating in the Mama & Me Program, families acknowledge that:
• They are responsible for supervising their child at all times.
• Their child may mouth play materials during exploration.
• Activities may include food-based, sensory, and natural materials.
• Participation in early childhood activities carries normal developmental risks.
• Playpourri International provides guidance but does not assume responsibility for individual child supervision.
Participation indicates acceptance of these terms.
