About Stern Grove Festival

Founded in 1938, Stern Grove Festival is San Francisco's premier free outdoor performing arts festival. Now entering its 89th season, the Festival welcomes over 100,000 attendees across ten weeks of world-class performances at Sigmund Stern Grove. Past artists have included The Flaming Lips, Chaka Khan, San Francisco Symphony, Smokey Robinson, Carlos Santana, Janelle Monáe, and many more.

Position: Festival Operations Team — On-Call & Waitlist Staff

We are building our on-call and waitlist roster for the festival season. If you're interested in joining the team, we encourage you to apply, and we'll reach out as opportunities become available.

The Operations Team includes the following groups: Perimeter, Safety, Ticketing, House, Bar, Patron Experience, and Stagehands.

Location

Sigmund Stern Grove, 19th Avenue & Sloat Boulevard, San Francisco. Orientation will be conducted via video conference.

Availability & Commitment

Availability on Sundays is required, with an average of approximately 8 hours per week. All are encouraged to apply; priority will be given to candidates who can commit to working all scheduled performances.

Compensation

Competitive rates based on position and experience, starting at $20 per hour.

Should I be made an offer of employment and be subsequently hired by SGFA, I understand that employment with SGFA is “at will”.
