Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Director, you will play a central role in identifying and engaging companies across GlycoSpot’s core markets that can benefit from rapid enzyme activity screening. Acting as the front-line driver of commercial growth, you will initiate contact with potential partners, build trust, and pinpoint specific use cases where GlycoSpot’s platform delivers measurable value.
You will co-develop business opportunities in close dialogue with prospects, manage early technical scoping, oversee tailored assay adaptation, and coordinate efforts with internal R&D. As commercial needs are clarified, you will translate them into structured project proposals and ensure a smooth internal handover to R&D for the development of assays and SOPs.
You will be expected to present solutions convincingly to both technical and commercial stakeholders, while continuously evaluating and prioritizing opportunities based on scalability, revenue potential, and strategic fit. In addition, you will contribute to the refinement of GlycoSpot’s go-to-market strategy and customer segmentation.
As part of a small and agile team, you will also take ownership of selected administrative and operational tasks – including invoicing, financial follow-up, purchasing, and coordination with external partners. Finally, you will maintain and work proactively within CRM systems to ensure structure, transparency, and momentum across the commercial pipeline. You will report directly to the CEO.

You bring a structured and opportunity-focused mindset, thrive in a self-directed role, and are capable of balancing commercial and operational responsibilities. Experience with finance, purchasing, or general business administration is considered a strong asset.
