• Startup Supporter Intake Form

Join the network to work with our companies! LifeX facilitates opportunities for individual contributors and service providers to work directly with promising life science and healthcare startups. While we do not function as a recruiter or job board, we maintain a database of information that is shared with our broader startup ecosystem in order to facilitate connections as needs arise either through LifeX programing or individual startups.
  • General Information:

  • Ways to Engage with LifeX

LifeX connects HealthTech/Life Sciences startups with people and organizations that can help them grow. The descriptions below outline the primary ways individuals and organizations can engage with LifeX and startups in our network.

    1. Service providers

Companies, firms, and independent professionals that offer specialized professional services or defined deliverables to startups through a business or professional practice.

    • Examples: Lawyers, accountants, regulatory consultants, etc.
    • Select this pathway if you are interested in supporting startups primarily through contracted professional services. If you would also be interested in engaging personally as a startup leader, mentor, or advisor, please complete the appropriate individual interest form separately.

    2. Early-Career Talent and Interns

Students, recent graduates, and other early-career professionals who want to gain experience while contributing directly to startup commercialization.

    • This may include people interested in:
      • Working as an intern or early-career employee within a startup
      • Completing an internship with LifeX
      • Supporting LifeX startups through commercialization-focused projects or accelerator programming

    3. Experts, Advisors, and Startup Leaders

Individuals in this category may be interested in contributing their expertise, exploring startup leadership or operating roles, or both. LifeX assesses potential fit based on alignment between an opportunity’s needs and the individual’s experience, interests, and availability.

    • Experts and Advisors: Professionals who provide strategic, technical, or functional guidance to LifeX and startups in our network.

  • Individual Contributor Questions

  • Completing this form is not an application for a specific role or opportunity. The information you provide will help the LifeX team understand where you may be a strong fit and identify relevant opportunities to connect you with startups, programs, or events in the future.

LifeX has the capacity to engage three subtypes of individuals:

    1. Intern/Employee Talent

    • Students and early-career professionals who want to work directly with a startup and apply their skills to help advance the company.

    2. Expert Guidance

    • Individuals who want to get involved in our ecosystem but aren't looking for a formal role as a startup leader or employee
    • This includes people that could act as a mentor, advisor, or board member for startups
    • Additionally, these individuals can engage with LifeX in roles such domain experts or guest speakers that participate in LifeX programs and events

     3. Startup Leadership Talent

    • Individuals looking for a leadership role in a startup in support of projects/startups in our network with academic or clinical founders who need a hands on operator, or entrepreneurial lead, to forward commercialization efforts.
  • What capacity would you be looking to engage? (Check all that apply)
  • Early-Career Talent and Intern Intake

  • Opportunity Preferences:

    1. Talent Pool (Intern/Employee Database)

    • This database is made accessible to startups in LifeX's network for them to access when they are looking to hire either for general help or for a specific skillset
    • Note: There is no guarantee you will receive word of an internship/employment opportunity. This is solely a means to put your information in front of startups/founders in our network.

    2. LifeX Accelerator Internship

The LifeX accelerator is a three-month program for high-potential, early-stage Life Science/HealthTech startups. Interns will be matched with one of the accelerator teams and work directly with them throughout the program.

    • Must be a current student at time of accelerator to apply
    • Paid, virtual internship
    • Time commitment is approximately 10-15hrs/week for 3 months
    • Focus on business and commercialization efforts (this is NOT a technical internship)
    • Graduate students are the target audience for this internship, but we occasionally accept exceptional undergraduate students

We have typically seen interns in the accelerator program support startups through projects related to stakeholder discovery, market analysis, business model development, regulatory strategy, pitch deck development, and more.

The accelerator runs twice a year, but applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Below are the cycle timelines and application deadlines for each accelerator cohort. We will reach out regarding the status of your application once we begin review for each cycle.

    • Spring cohort: March to June (Must apply by February Deadline)
    • Fall cohort: September to December (Must apply by August Deadline)

    3. Launchpad Internships

    • We occasionally recruit interns for Launchpad projects, which involve highly defined commercialization projects with Life Science/HealthTech startups.
    • Launchpad internships are opportunity dependent (i.e. we do not recruit on a rolling basis like the Accelerator internship).
    • Please only select this option if you recieved a communication about, saw a post for, or learned about a Launchpad opportunity from the LifeX team.
