Swimming Victoria Life Member
For Swimming Victoria Life Membership, the emphasis is on:
- Outstanding service and contribution to Swimming Victoria;
- Outstanding service and contribution to the sport of swimming; and
- Enhancement of the reputation of the sport of swimming.
Life Membership requires more than the holding of office(s) or membership and the routine performance of that office(s) or membership.

When considering Life Membership the Board shall have regard to the following:
- Any combination of direct service and/or outstanding contributions to enhance the standing of Swimming Victoria or any other direct service to Swimming Victoria over such a period of time and to such a level of involvement as is considered below; and
- the individual contribution of the nominee must have been above and beyond what could be reasonably expected within the swimming community having made a significant impact to the sport of swimming; and
- the values and behaviours that the nominee has demonstrated in their ethical and exemplary service and their reputation and standing within the swimming community.
- Examples of Direct Service to Swimming Victoria
  - As a swimmer or coach who has been a member of the Australian Swimming Team for a minimum of five (5) years (not necessarily consecutive) representing Victoria and has been actively involved in giving back to swimming in Victoria.
  - As a member of the SV Board or a member of any SV Committee, or both, for at least seven (7) years (not necessarily consecutive)
  - As a qualified Technical Official who has worked actively for at least fifteen (15) years
  - As any other Athlete, Coach, Administrator or Volunteer for a least fifteen (15) years (not necessarily consecutive)
  - 'Other' is listed as an option. If you choose this option please include a description of the nominees service
- The following should be considered when including supporting information for Outstanding Contribution for Life Membership
  - The quality, length and level of service given by the nominee
  - The standard of competitive performance (athlete or coach nomination) by the nominee
  - Whether the nominee has made an outstanding contribution to the growth, development and standing of the sport in the broader community
  - Whether the nominee is the holder of a Meritorious Service Award for a period of 12 months or more

- As per the Swimming Victoria Awards By-Law, BL6 Clause 4.4, any Member of SV may nominate a person who is eligible for Life Membership of SV on the prescribed form by submitting it to the CEO no later than 30 June in each relevant year.
