Le Centre des arts d’Edmundston annonce le lancement d’un programme de mentorat artistique destiné aux jeunes et aux artistes émergents en arts visuels de la région du Nord-Ouest du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Ce programme structuré vise à encourager la poursuite d’études supérieures en arts, faciliter l’insertion professionnelle et promouvoir la professionnalisation dans le milieu artistique. Il contribue également à sensibiliser la population à l’importance de l’éducation artistique dans le développement personnel et collectif.
Articulé autour de trois volets - ateliers de formation (peinture, sculpture, gravure, dessin, photographie, céramique, techniques mixtes et histoire de l'art, axés sur la région du Nord-Ouest-Madawaska et la province du Nouveau-Brunswick), mentorat artistique et transmission intergénérationnelle - le programme propose des stages pratiques avec des artistes professionnels du Nouveau-Brunswick, une formation à la constitution de portfolios et de dossiers professionnels et un accompagnement personnalisé.
En favorisant le dialogue entre générations et la valorisation des pratiques artistiques locales, ce programme s’inscrit dans une démarche de continuité et d’enracinement culturel. Une exposition des œuvres des participants de la première cohorte viendra clôturer cette première édition en janvier 2026, dans la galerie professionnelle du Centre.

Project description
The Centre des arts d'Edmundston is announcing the launch of a visual arts mentorship programme for young and emerging visual artists in northwestern New Brunswick.
This structured programme is designed to encourage the pursuit of advanced studies in the arts, facilitate professional integration, and promote professionalisation in the artistic community. It also helps to raise public awareness of the importance of arts education in personal and collective development.
Structured around three components - training workshops (painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, photography, ceramics, and mixed media, along with art history, focusing on the North West-Madawaska region and the province of New Brunswick), artistic mentoring, and intergenerational transmission - the programme offers practical courses with professional New Brunswick artists, training in the creation of portfolios and professional files, and personalised support.
By encouraging dialogue between generations and promoting local artistic practices, this programme is part of a process of continuity and cultural rootedness. An exhibition of works by participants from the first cohort will bring this first edition to a close in January 2026, in the Centre's professional gallery.
