If the babies appear healthy, please put the kittens back & monitor closely to see if mom comes back within a few hours.
If the babies appear sick, please get them warmed up & KMR fed asap & text me immediately.
If there is a mom with young kittens, get a photo & text me after completing this form. Do not remove the kittens without speaking to a rescuer.
If a feral cat is involved, we can trap & fix them, but they must be released back at the same area after surgery. We do not remove feral cats.
Not all strays are feral. If you can get close & touch them, they are considered "Friendly." Some ferals do tame down, but most of them are happy as outdoor only cats.
We can only help, if there's funding to do it, so please consider donating what you can.
It costs an average of $150-250 to fully vet the average NON-sick cat, & that doesn't include the basics like 2-6 months+ supplies of food, litter, water.
Almost all strays/ferals have some sort of additional medical issue costing far more than average vetting needed.
Dentals are the most common issue with strays, & are also the most expensive ($1,000+)
You have the best chances to socialize a feral who is 4 months old & YOUNGER
The younger the cat, the highest chance at socializing.
If you trap on your own, make sure you immediately cover the trap once the door closes, to avoid injury to the cat from thrashing around in the trap.
