Vendor vs. Exhibitor vs. Provider: Understanding Their Roles at Funding Your Mission 2025
At our event, we offer opportunities for vendors, exhibitors and providers to connect with nonprofit leaders, decision-makers, and professionals. While these terms are sometimes used interchangeably, they serve distinct purposes:
Vendor – A Business Ready to Sell
A vendor is a company or organization that provides products or services that attendees can purchase or sign up for on-site or post-event
Exhibitor – A Brand Showcasing Its Presence
An exhibitor is a company, nonprofit, or organization that participates in the event primarily for brand awareness, education, and relationship-building rather than direct sales.
Provider - A Professional Consultant or Service Provider
A provider is a company, organization, or professional that delivers specialized services, solutions, or resources to nonprofit organizations. Unlike a vendor, which primarily focuses on selling products or software, or an exhibitor, which is focused on brand awareness and engagement, a provider is service-driven, often offering expertise or ongoing support to nonprofits.
