Officials must work a minimum of 8 games over the weekend to be receive a hotel or hotel reimbursement and a travel stipend. Officials requesting a TRAVEL STIPEND ONLY must work a minimum of 6 games to qualify. No travel stipend or hotel is assumed and must be requested by the referee at the time of registration.
TRAVEL STIPENDS are paid to the driver of the vehicle, based on one-way mileage on the following scale:
- 60-75 miles: $20**
- 76-100 miles: $35
- 101-150 miles: $50
- 151-200 miles: $75
- 200+ miles: $100
HOTEL ROOMS are available for referees who need an overnight stay and meet certain qualifications. All rooms are non-smoking double queens that will be shared with another official. You may request to room with a specific referee. Rooms may be for Friday or Saturday checkin depend on certain qualifications based on one-way mileage from the venue.
For officials traveling beyond 75 miles one way to the venue:
- Friday Checkin - Officials MUST:
- Accept at least 8 assignments for the weekend AND
- Work the first time slot on Saturday AND
- Work the last time slot on Saturday OR the first time slot on Sunday
- Saturday Checkin - Officials MUST:
- Accept at least 8 assignments for the weekend AND
- Work the last time slot on Saturday OR the first time slot on Sunday
For officials within a 75-mile radius of the venue: (Local Referees***)
- Friday Checkin - Officials MUST:
- Have accepted at least 10 assignments for the weekend AND
- Work the first time slot on Saturday AND Sunday AND
- Work the last time slot on Saturday
- Saturday Checkin - Officials MUST:
- Have accepted at least 8 assignments for the weekend AND
- Work the last time slot on Saturday AND
- Work the first time slot on Sunday
MINORS (UNDER 18)
You MUST include the email of your parent or guardian on this form and they must sign a Hotel Liability Waiver. The tournament will not consider you for a room without both items.
If you are a minor traveling with another referee who is an adult or minor, you can request to room with this person on the travel form. If you are not comfortable sharing a room with another official, you must opt for the $75/night reimbursement and book your own room.
We do our best to room minors with other minors, but this is not always possible. Parents or guardians of the minor assume all responsibility for communicating requests with tournament staff and making other arrangements in advance. Please plan accordingly.
HOTEL REIMBURSEMENT
For referees who prefer to book their own hotel, a Hotel Reimbursement of $75/night (pre-tax) for a maximum of two nights (Friday & Saturday) is available. Reimbursements are provided at the time of event deposit according the the following requirements:
- Travel beyond 75 miles one-way to the event venue
- Work at least 8 assignments for the weekend
- Submit hotel receipt or paid invoice showing nightly rate and total payment made. Rooms paid with rewards points are not eligible for reimbursement.
Receipts may be added to your post event-form submission or emailed to referees@snapsoccer.com.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Hotels are provided assuming referees will work ALL accepted games. IF you drop below the minimum required game count for hotel or travel, you will not receive any travel stipend.
- IF you list Open Availability all weekend, AND you decline an assignment in the last time slot on Sunday, your travel pay stipend will be deducted by 30%.
- You may go back to update your availability now, or contact referees@snapsoccer.com with updated availability.
- IF you do not work the first time slot on Saturday, you are not eligible for a hotel on Friday night.
- Local Referees:
- May not apply for a Hotel Reimbursement, but may be offered a travel stipend
- Are only given rooms if the tournament has already housed out of town officials.
- Rooms are for referees ONLY. Kids/family members/significant others are not allowed to stay unless they are working during the event. If you plan to bring a guest, you may opt for a Hotel Reimbursement.
*Tournament Directors have final discretion on all matters pertaining to hotels and travel.
**Travel stipends for referees less than 75 miles from the tournament venue is only offered if a hotel is not provided.
***While Local Referees may apply for a hotel, there is no guarantee it will be provided. If a hotel is not provided and the official lives greater than 50 miles from the venue, a travel stipend will be provided.
