    Being licensed means you have an active child care license issued by the State of California (the application will ask for your license number). To receive funding, your program must be licensed and in good standing, currently open and operating in Alameda County, and have children birth to age 5 enrolled as of June 11, 2025. Your program must also remain licensed, open, and operating in Alameda County with children birth to age 5 enrolled throughout the funding period.

    A subsidy or voucher is a government payment to you for child care or early care and education services, supporting families who need financial help. Examples include CalWORKs Stages 1-3, Bridge Program, CAPP (California Alternative Payment Program), paid by BANANAS, 4Cs (Child Care Coordinating Council), Hively, and/or Davis Street.

    State and federal programs include California State Preschool Program (CSPP), General Child Care (CCTR), Children with Severe Disabilities (CHAN), Head Start, Early Head Start, and Migrant Child Care and Development Programs (CMIG).

    For example, if you provide care for 72 children birth to age 5, your site would be eligible if: At one point in time between July 2022 and December 2024, you served a total of 18 children, birth to age 5, in an Alameda County ECE subsidy program. (18 children = 25% of 72 children).
