WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR WKSF HOT DOG EATING COMPETITION I, [Participant Full Name], in consideration of being permitted to participate in the Hot Dog Eating Competition, acknowledge, agree, and represent as follows: 1. Acknowledgment of Risks: I understand that the Event involves the rapid consumption of hot dogs and buns in a competitive, timed setting. I acknowledge that participation carries inherent risks, including but not limited to: - Choking or asphyxiation. - Allergic reactions to food ingredients (e.g., wheat, soy, gluten, dairy, or preservatives). - Gastrointestinal distress, including nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain. - Physical injury from overexertion or competitive actions. - Potential long-term health effects from rapid eating. 2. Assumption of Risk: I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in the Event, whether known or unknown, and accept full responsibility for my participation. 3. Health and Fitness Certification: I certify that I am physically fit and have no medical conditions, including but not limited to heart conditions, digestive disorders, or food allergies, that would prevent safe participation in the Event. I have consulted a physician if necessary to confirm my ability to participate. 4. Food Allergy Disclosure: I have reviewed the ingredient list for the hot dogs and buns provided by the Event organizers and confirm that I have no known allergies or dietary restrictions that would prevent safe consumption. I understand that it is my responsibility to verify the ingredients prior to participation. 5. Release of Liability: I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Western Kentucky State Fair, its organizers, sponsors, affiliates, volunteers, and the owners of the venue (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, or causes of action arising from my participation in the Event, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, death, or property damage, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. 6. Emergency Medical Treatment: I authorize the Event organizers or their representatives to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am unable to consent due to injury or incapacity. I agree to be solely responsible for any costs associated with such treatment. 7. Compliance with Event Rules: I agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the Event, as provided by the organizers. I understand that failure to comply may result in my disqualification from the Event without refund or recourse. 8. Media and Likeness Release: I grant permission to WKSF and its affiliates to use my name, likeness, voice, or performance in photographs, videos, or other media for promotional or marketing purposes without compensation or prior approval. 9. Legal Capacity: I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. I have read this waiver fully and understand its terms. 10. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, losses, or damages caused by my actions or omissions during the Event.
