      Historic St. John's & Cape Spear bus tour: Highlights of St. John's and surrounding area, including Cape Spear, the most Easterly point in North America. Enjoy the brilliant vistas from Cabot Tower and Signal Hill, one of the most recognizable skylines in Canada. Walk through a cliffside World War II gun battery, watch for whales and seabirds and visit the oldest standing lighthouse in the province. Other stops include Quidi Vidi Village, Jelly Bean Row, Government House, the Roman Catholic Basilica and an orientation of the shops and restaurants of the downtown core. Bus leaves the Sheraton hotel at 9 a.m. and brings everyone back in time for lunch at the hotel. Approximately 3 hours.

      O’Brien Farm tour: O'Brien Farm is an active, working farm where people learn about and practice sustainable food production. It also tells the story of Irish settlement in St. John’s through the story of the O’Brien family. Situated in the Freshwater Valley in the middle of St. John’s, O’Brien Farm is one of the last original family farms in the city. Many buildings like Thimble Cottage have been restored and there is also an interpretation centre and workshop. Transportation provided from the Sheraton at 1:30 p.m. Approximately 2.5 hours.

More information about each activity is available below. If you do not plan to attend, please indicate that as well.

    In the morning during the final portion of the conference, we opted for a free morning rather than organized activities. Suggestions for local sights and activities will be provided at registration for those interested.

      O’Brien’s Boat Tour (3-4 hours): Hop aboard and set sail into an unforgettable adventure with Atlantic puffins and majestic humpback whales. Watch seabirds plunge into the sea for their next meal, spot bald eagles soaring above, and marvel as sunlight dances across towering ice formations. Cruise to the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve—home to North America’s largest Atlantic puffin colony, with over 500,000 puffins, and millions of other seabirds including common murres, black-legged kittiwakes, and razorbill auks. And you may even see humpback whales as they breach, slap their fins, and play just meters away—an unforgettable spectacle! Transportation provided from and returning to the Sheraton.

      St. John’s Walking Tour (2.5 hours): This guided walking tour is packed with fascinating history, stunning architecture, and captivating stories. Starting in the heart of downtown, you will wind through historic streets, past Jellybean Row, and beyond—uncovering the quirky tales, local legends, and hidden gems that make St. John’s unforgettable. Includes George Bannerman Park, the Colonial Building, the War Memorial and the Harbourfront.

      Golf at GlenDenning (5-6 hours): GlenDenning Golf is an oasis of fun and enjoyment within the city of St. John's. The course is designed with generous tee decks, contoured fairways and undulating greens, all defined by strategically placed bunkers. The gentle terrain, provides an enjoyable walk for all ages and ability. Playing at a Par 71 and 6214 yards with three tee positions to choose from, beginners and avid golfers will enjoy the forgiveness and challenges that each hole has to offer. Transportation to and from GlenDenning, green fees and motorized cart.
