1. Nature of Coaching and Limitations of Liability:
The coach is only acting as a coach, and not your therapist. Coaching is a non-clinical service focused on personal growth, emotional insight, intuitive exploration, and wellness goals. It does not include psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment. If mental health or crisis support is needed, you are encouraged to seek professional therapeutic care. Coaching results vary and are not guaranteed, and all coaching sessions are provided, “as is” without warranties. Outcomes depend largely on client commitment and actions.
The coach is not responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on coaching sessions. Coaching does not substitute professional advice (legal, medical, financial etc.) The coach is not liable for any direct or indirect damage or losses resulting from coaching sessions. By moving forward with payment and coaching sessions, you agree to these terms, including any potential fees, the non-clinical nature of coaching, and this limitation of liability.
2. Technology and communication:
Coaching sessions are conducted remotely by phone, Zoom, Psychology Today, Google Meet or another agreed upon online platform. Additional communication between sessions may occur via Calendly.com, Jotform, email, text messaging, WhatsApp, or other mutually agreed-upon methods. These tools are used to support scheduling, brief check-ins, and sharing relevant information as needed.
While reasonable steps are taken to protect your privacy, it’s important to understand that no method of electronic communication is completely secure. Third-party platforms (e.g., Calendly.com, email, text, WhatsApp, or Zoom) all may have access to or store your data outside your country of residence, including in the U.S. If you are located in Canada, this may mean your information is subject to U.S. privacy laws and may not be covered by Canadian privacy protections.
When using these forms of communication, please limit any and all personally identifying information, as much as possible. This may look like using initials instead of your full name, and refraining from entering in information such as your email address, phone number, or other identifying personal information into platforms utilized.
By choosing to engage in coaching and communicate through these means, you acknowledge and accept the potential privacy risks involved. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in a private and secure setting during sessions and when accessing coaching communications.
3. Emergency Situations Disclaimer:
Coaching is a non-clinical service and is not a substitute for mental health treatment, crisis intervention, or emergency care. This coach is not able to provide support in emergency or crisis situations.
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, are in emotional distress, or are facing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911 (U.S.) or 911/988 (Canada), visit your nearest emergency room, or contact a local crisis line or mental health support service immediately.
By agreeing to participate in coaching, you acknowledge that this service is not designed to assess, diagnose, or treat mental health conditions or provide emergency response.
4. Session Fees & Payment:
Coaching sessions are typically offered on a pay-per-session basis. Packages or ongoing arrangements may be discussed and agreed upon with your coach on a case-by-case basis. Sessions may be purchased individually or as part of a package. Once services have begun, payments are considered non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing. That said, your coach understands that unexpected circumstances may arise and will do their best to be flexible when feasible.
Clients are responsible for scheduling and using their sessions within the agreed timeframe. Payment requests will typically be sent at the start or end of each session via Wise, IvyPay, or another agreed-upon platform, depending on availability and your location. Payment is due before or immediately after the session unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
For international payments processed through Wise, the coach may cover currency conversion fees on their end to offer you a better exchange rate. However, your bank or card provider may charge international or processing fees, which are your responsibility and outside of the coach’s control. The coach does not absorb third-party or banking fees unless otherwise agreed upon beforehand.
In some cases, GST/HST or other applicable sales tax may be added depending on location and local tax regulations. If adjustments or exceptions (such as fee absorption) are made, they must be discussed in advance and are handled on a case-by-case basis when feasible. These accommodations are not guaranteed and may vary over time.
If any discrepancy or issue arises with payment, your coach will make reasonable efforts to resolve it once they are made aware. Unpaid invoices may delay future sessions until the balance is resolved.
This policy is provided for transparency. It does not constitute legal, financial, or tax advice. You are encouraged to check with your financial institution about any potential transaction fees based on your chosen method or country of residence, and to ask any questions about fees or billing before beginning services.
5. Refund & Cancellation Policy:
Life happens. Clients are asked to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or scheduling changes whenever possible. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a small fee, though flexibility may be offered at the coach’s discretion.
All coaching sessions are voluntary and may be discontinued at any time, with or without notice, by either the client or the coach. Refunds are considered on a per-session basis and must be requested before the end of the scheduled session. Except where required by applicable consumer protection laws, refunds are not available once a coaching session has been completed.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy Policy:
Although not bound by clinical confidentiality laws, this coach values discretion. The personal information shared will not be disclosed without your permission unless required by law (e.g., there is an imminent risk of harm or legal order). As part of my coaching practice, their may be brief, non-clinical notes taken for the coaches own use to track progress. These notes are not medical or therapeutic records, and do not contain diagnoses, and are not shared with third parties.
This coach is not required to keep such notes and may choose not to retain them at all. Any notes are kept securely and confidentially in compliance with applicable privacy and consumer protection laws. You may request access to your information; however, because these are not clinical records, this coach may not retain detailed sessions documentation or be able to provide copies. Basic records such as this agreement and payment history may be retained in accordance with applicable privacy and consumer protenction laws. By engaging in coaching, you acknowledge and agree to this documentation policy.
