Gustavo Villegas, MD

Dr. Gustavo Villegas was born and raised in a border town. Born and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Dr. Villegas’ dream was to offer urologic services to a community of people that resemble the community he grew up with, and DHR Health in the RGV has been a perfect fit.

Dr. Villegas received his Bachelors of Science in Microbiology with honors at UT El Paso. He completed medical school in one of the top programs in the country at Boston University School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed his General Surgery Internship and Urological Surgery Residency at UT Health Science Center San Antonio.

Dr. Villegas offers medical and surgical treatments for a variety of Urologic conditions with emphasis on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, Urinary Retention, Overactive Bladder, Urinary Incontinence, Kidney stones, Erectile dysfunction and Vasectomies. Dr. Villegas is the leading and only Urolift® Center of Excellence for BPH in the Rio Grande Valley, and also offers robotic, endoscopic and minimally invasive in office procedures for BPH, overactive bladder and more.

Dr. Villegas enjoys also teaching and is an active core faculty teacher at DHR Urology Residency. He is fully bilingual and in his free time enjoys spending time with his family, watching and playing sports, and traveling.
