Terms and Conditions for Pet Sitting Services
House & Pet Sitters Helderberg
1. General Agreement
By booking a pet sitting service with House & Pet Sitters Helderberg, the client agrees to the following terms and conditions. This agreement is made between House & Pet Sitters Helderberg (“the Pet Sitter”) and the pet owner (“the Client”).
2. Services Provided
The Pet Sitter agrees to provide the services outlined in the booking confirmation or service agreement, which may include feeding, walking, administering medication, cleaning litter boxes or cages, and providing companionship and care.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1. All bookings must be confirmed in writing (email, text, or booking form).
3.2. A deposit of 50% is required to secure a booking.
3.3. Full payment is due 7 days before the first day of service.
3.4. Cancellations made more than 72 hours after securing a booking will forfeit the deposit.
4. Access to Property
The Client agrees to provide the Pet Sitter with safe access to the home and any necessary security codes or keys. The Pet Sitter will not be held responsible for any loss or damage due to faulty locks, inadequate security, or any other home-related issues beyond the Pet Sitter’s control.
5. Pet Health and Behaviour
5.1. The Client confirms that their pet(s) are in good health and free from contagious conditions.
5.2. The Client must inform the Pet Sitter of any known behavioural issues.
5.3. The Pet Sitter reserves the right to refuse or terminate services if a pet poses a danger to the Pet Sitter, others, or itself.
6. Emergency Care
In the event of a medical emergency, the Pet Sitter will contact the Client and/or the Client’s veterinarian. If the Client is unreachable, the Pet Sitter is authorized to seek veterinary care at the Client’s expense. The Pet Sitter will not be held liable for any outcomes of veterinary treatment.
7. Liability
7.1. The Pet Sitter will take all reasonable care but is not liable for injury, death, loss, or illness of the pet unless due to gross negligence or willful misconduct.
7.2. The Client is responsible for any damage caused by their pet to property, people, or other animals.
8. Insurance
The Client is encouraged to ensure their pet is covered by appropriate insurance during the service period.
9. Keys and Security
9.1. All keys, codes, and personal information will be kept confidential.
9.2. Keys may be securely kept on file for future bookings unless the Client requests otherwise.
10. Photos and Updates
The Pet Sitter may take photos or videos during care for client updates or promotional use (e.g., social media, website). If the Client does not wish for their pet’s images to be shared publicly, they must notify the Pet Sitter in writing.
