  • A requirement of living here is that your household has the income to support the rent.

    For purposes of qualifying for this affordable VA housing program, as used in Article XI-A of the Oregon Constitution and this chapter, “veteran” means a person who:

    1. Served on active duty with the Armed Forces of the United States:For a period of more than 90 consecutive days beginning on or before January 31, 1955, and was discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions;
      1. For a period of more than 178 consecutive days beginning after January 31, 1955, and was discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions;
      2. For 178 days or less and was discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions because of a service-connected disability;
      3. For 178 days or less and was discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions and has a disability rating from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs;
    2. For at least one day in a combat zone and was discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions;
      1. Received a combat or campaign ribbon or an expeditionary medal for service in the Armed Forces of the United States and was discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions; or
      2. Is receiving a nonservice-connected pension from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. 

    As used in subsection (1) of this section:

    1. “Active duty” does not include attendance at a school under military orders, except schooling incident to an active enlistment or a regular tour of duty, or normal military training as a reserve officer or member of an organized reserve or National Guard unit.
    2. “Honorable conditions” has the meaning given that term in rules adopted by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. [Formerly 407.090 (Reassigned); 2019 c.223 §4]

    • One Person $38,940
    • Two People $44,460
    • Three People $50,040
    • Four People $55,560
    • Five People $60,060

    Must have income to support one and a half times rent at:

    • One Bedroom $900
    • Two Bedroom $1,100

    *Rental amounts are subject to change yearly based on HUD housing rental limits

    Please note the following regarding your application for the housing list:

    This application does not guarantee that you will receive a rental unit. This only places you on a housing list for a call back. You will still need to be screened for credit, criminal, and rental history, provide your DD214 as well as meet required monthly income and annual income limits to qualify.

    It is your responsibility to ensure we have accurate contact information for you at all times, including a current phone number.

    All applicants will be placed on the housing list in chronological order.

    • We will not send housing list updates we will only contact you when an apartment becomes available matching your requirements
    • Length of time you will be on the housing list will vary. The list changes as contact is made with people already on the waitlist.
    • A housing list will be closed when there is enough applicants
    • When a unit becomes available matching your requirements, contact will be made via phone.
    • If you do not respond within the 24 hours of the call or decline, you will be removed from the current housing list.
    • If you do respond and wish to rent the available unit you must begin the application paperwork process within 24 hours and pay the fee for the application per adult over 18 years old.
    • The application will be processed for the approval (or denial) for the credit, criminal, and rental background.

    Application Appointment Process:

    • Once you are called for your application appointment you will need to bring your DD214, paystubs for all adults in the household ,SSI or SSDI letter, VA Disability letter, your BHA letter, TANAF and any income for all adults that will be moving in.
    • All income from all sources will be used to income qualify your household at the 60% income limit. We do have to use any SSI or SSDI that children in the home get towards income.
    • Application fee of $35.00 per adult (18 and older) Money order or Cashiers Check
    • Any supplemental information that you would like to add to your application that you feel would be good for us to have when we process your application.
    • Once your rental application is approved you will be sent an Execution Agreement and a Move in Accounting form to sign.
    • Please be aware that there is a two-step approval process (rental application and income qualification) Just because your rental application is approved you will still have to income qualify for the unit.
    • You will need to pay an execution deposit of $300 within 72 hours. This is to secure your unit while we work towards your final approval.
