Cancellations
Our events will go ahead in most weather conditions. However, if there are high winds or lightning and we deem it dangerous to use the site, the event may be postponed to another date. Every effort will be made to provide adequate notice of any postponement, but due to the unpredictable nature of weather, notice may sometimes be short.
Postponed events will not be eligible for a refund unless it is impossible to arrange a suitable alternative date. In such cases, the event will be cancelled, and a refund will be issued. If we cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, it will also be eligible for a refund.
Events will still proceed in rainy or cold conditions. It is the responsibility of parents and attendees to ensure they are appropriately dressed for the weather. We provide clothing advice on our Facebook page. If you need to cancel your attendance, please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the event will not be refunded.
Conduct and Risk Management
All planned activities that attendees participate in have been risk-assessed. Risk management guidance is available on our website and upon request. Out in the Sticks staff are trained to dynamically risk assess all activities as they progress and will intervene if necessary to ensure the safety of attendees. All activities and staff practices align with the guidance set by the Forest School Association.
Out in the Sticks reserves the right to terminate a participant’s place on a programme or workshop with immediate effect if there is a breach of our terms, conditions, or policies. These policies exist to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants and staff.
Anyone attending our sessions who behaves inappropriately, displays offensive or aggressive behavior, or breaches any of our policies will be asked to leave the site immediately. Parents or carers who violate our terms and conditions risk having their child’s place cancelled, and a refund will not be issued.
All sessions are conducted outdoors, and participation comes with associated yet appropriate risks. Participation in our sessions is entirely at your own risk, and Out in the Sticks is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss of personal property unless caused by proven negligence, a breach of duty of care, or lack of due diligence by Out in the Sticks or authorised professionals working with us. We have taken all relevant health and safety measures to support the safe delivery and participation in our sessions.
