ASSOCIATION FOR HISTORICAL DIALOGUE AND RESEARCH (AHDR)

 

The Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) is looking for highly motivated freelance facilitators to support its mono-communal and inter-communal peace education and/ or outdoor education programmes on an ad-hoc basis for the school year 2025-2026. The deadline for this call is Friday, 27 June 2025 and applications will be examined on a rolling basis. 

 

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for individuals with:

• Experience working with youth (formally or informally)

• Interest or background in:

• Peace Education / Anti-Racist Education / Education for a Culture of Peace.

• History, Geography, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

• Outdoor, Place-Based, or Experiential Education.

• Fluency in English and Turkish or Greek.

 

Background

The Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) is an inter-communal, non-profit, and non-governmental organization established in 2003 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The AHDR aims to contribute to the advancement of dialogue, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding among teachers, students, and the general public by providing access to various learning opportunities. Our facilitators support AHDR’s Peace Education and/or Outdoor Education programmes, which engage young people aged 8–17 from across the divide in Cyprus through workshops, educational walks, and study visits. How to apply 

To apply you need to complete this form, in English, by Friday 27 June 2025. 

The form will ask for:

• Your CV.

• A few questions to understand why you want to join and your relevant experience.

• Your availability during the school year.

• Areas of interest (Peace Education / Outdoor Education / etc.)

• A short video (max 3 minutes) to introduce yourself and why you’d like to facilitate with the AHDR.

 

Evaluation & Selection of Applications

Applicants will be selected based on their qualifications and demonstrated experience. This Expression of Interest does not entail any financial or other commitments by the employer. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by the AHDR team.
