  • Request a Youth Presentation or Field Trip

  • Please note:

    • All presentations are designed as interactive learning sessions for individual classes. 
      • We do not offer grade-level or school-level assembly-style presentations at this time.
    • Program requests are on a first-come, first-served basis. Allow at least two weeks for scheduling.
    • Programs can be scheduled for Monday - Friday. 
    • We require at least 1 adult chaperone or teacher to be present during the presentation. Kindergarten and 1st-grade presentations may require additional chaperones.
    • Services are restricted to Plano schools, businesses, and organizations, as well as any Plano ISD school, regardless of its location.

    Group size: 15 person minimum; 30 person maximum

    Presentation length: 30 - 45 minutes. Presentation lengths may be adjusted according to children's ages or developmental levels.

    Cost: No charge

  • The Water Walk field trip is an interactive educational experience designed for 1st - 12th graders. Participants and chaperones rotate through stations to learn about our local watershed and how to protect it. Because the learning stations are outdoors, this field trip is only available from March 1 to November 1, as weather permits. 

    Please note: 

    • For groups smaller than 15 students, or larger than 60 students, please get in touch with us by phone at 972-769-4228.
    • Requests are on a first-come, first-served basis. Make your request at least 2 weeks ahead of your desired date. 
    • Field trips are weather-dependent and may be scheduled when staff is available.
    • March - May: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 
    • June - August: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
    • September - October: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 
    • Field trips must be completed before sundown.

    Group size: 15 person minimum; 60 person maximum

    Chaperones: 1 adult per 15 children

    Field trip length: 60 - 120 minutes (Varies by participant age and group size.)

    Cost: 

    A minimum charge of $75 applies to groups of up to 15 participants, and each additional participant is $5.
    Fees are payable one week before the event. If payment is not received by the due date, the field trip is subject to cancellation.
    Schools may request to make payment via Purchase Order (P.O.).

  • The City of Plano's Sustainability and Environmental Education Division offers onsite interactive educational experiences at neighborhood, corporate, and community events through our Mobile Education Van. Our outreach activities focus on sustainable living, like 

    • water conservation
    • composting
    • gardening and plants
    • worm composting
    • recycling
    • animals, life cycles, and habitats

    The Mobile Education Van is available Monday - Saturday. Requests are on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to requests made at least 4 weeks in advance.

    Services are restricted to Plano organizations and any Plano ISD school, regardless of its location.

    NOTE: The Mobile Education Van is for curbside education at outdoor events. It is 22 feet long and needs 2 reserved parking spaces, plus space for visitors to walk around it and interact with the display. 

    After you complete and submit your form, a staff member will contact you within 2 business days to confirm availability.
