Event Rules and Regulations: Contest is open to the public - Ages 12+ All Boats/Rafts MUST be Hand-Crafted No Commercially manufactured hulls Inner Tube Floatation is Approved (If it is supported by a raft or boat) NO MOTORS - Must be self propelled (Poles, Oars, Paddlewheel, etc.) Aftermarket Marine Rigging is Accepted Crew Size: (Minimum 2) (Maximum 4) ALL Participants must wear Coast Guard Approved Personal Floating Devices ALL Boats/Rafts MUST have a 50' Tow Rope Attached to the Hull Sheet Metal or Raw Edges MUST be Taped or Rounded Shoes, Water Shoes, or Water Socks Encouraged ALL Entries MUST Check In for Inspection at Least 30min Before Event. (Must Float for 30min Before Start of Race) Crews will race approximately 100 yards around a buoy and return to the finish line. ALL crew members must be on board to complete race. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Along with Best Theme & Best Effort Awards. Creativity is encouraged!! (Team Shirts/Costumes, Decorations) Contestants release Jayhawk Marina from any claim, demand or course of action for personal injury, death, property loss, destruction, theft. (All Team Members MUST sign waiver day of race) (Anyone under the age of 18 MUST have a parent/guardians signature) Participants are responsible for removing boat/raft or parts of from Marina and State Park after the conclusion of the race. There will be a MANDITORY Captains meeting (30min prior to race start time) Entries in contest release to use contestant’s name, photo, and/or voice in social media and print material. 12 ft LENGTH LIMIT NO Canoes or Kayaks ENTRY FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN PRIOR TO DAY OF RACE
