Skiers must be able to link turns with skis parallel on blue terrain and hockey stop both directions.

Snowboarders must be able to make controlled heel and toe turns- controlling speed and stopping on either edge- on blue terrain.

Training at Green Mountain Academy focuses on progression and competition preparation. Athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one competition. There are multiple opportunities for athletes to compete at home (Stowe or Bolton Valley) and locally in the USASA Northern Vermont Series or IFSA circuit. Athletes may particpate in a Friendly (low-stakes, just for fun comp) to satisfy their competition participation.
