• Mahoning County Junior Fair

    AMBASSADOR APPLICATION
  • The purpose of the Ambassador program is to encourage youth to promote the different livestock areas of the Junior Fair Program. The Junior Fair youth selected as ambassador will be expected to be knowledgeable on all aspects of their project and the Junior Fair Program. The individual will be expected to be dressed neatly and be on their best behavior during the fair, and while visiting other fairs, as they represent their Junior Fair Department and the Mahoning County Junior Fair. Please read through the application requirements completely before submitting this application.

  • 1.  Youth Member may apply for more than one project area.  

    2.  If a member intends to apply for more than one project area, they must complete a separate form for each project area.

    3. A youth member may only be selected to represent one project area.  The area they will be selected to represent will be determined by the selection committee.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    1.  Youth must be an active youth club member between the ages of 15 and 18 as of January 1 of the current year.  Youth may reapply if selected in a previous year.

    2.  Youth applying must have completed at least 3 consecutive years (one after the other) with the project animal in the department they are applying for as ambassador.

    3.  All applications must be turned in no later than July 1, 2026.  Any application received after this deadline will not be considered.  No exceptions will be made.

    4.  Youth must compete in the hands-on Skillathon (not the make-up) and Showmanship (dog members must participate in with Showmanship or Agility or Obedience) during the 2026 Junior Fair Show.

    5.  Youth must fill out this application and complete the essay questions.  

    Selection Process:

    1.  All applicants will submit their applications and essays online.  These applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the organizing committee.

    2. The winner will be notified prior to the begining of the Junior Fair Show to being fulfilling their duties. The winner will be officially announced Thursday, September 3rd, during the Youth Day Program.

    Duties/Requirements

    The ambassador program is a one-year term, and applicants may apply more than once.  The winners will have multiple duties:

    1.  Be present for all shows of their species to help the committee.

    2.  Be visible and active in the barn.

    3.  Assist younger youth with the project.

    4.  Be dressed nicely at all times while wearing their sash.

    5.  Be respectful and behave as a role model while representing the             Junior Fair and their specie.
