    Submit your request to host the 2026 Darcy Lecturer, Dr. Steve Loheide. The request submission deadline is September 30, 2025. Presentations may be requested January 5, 2026 through November 30, 2026. Direct requests to the lecturer will not be honored. Contact stenney@ngwa.org if you have any questions.

  • Potential Host Information-Please read before submitting your request. 

    Requests: All requests must be submitted by September 15, 2025. Do not contact the Lecturer directly.

    Formats: The Darcy Lecture will be limited to a specific number of in-person presentations, as well as a reasonable number of virtual presentations. The National Ground Water Association and the Lecturer will determine the schedule and format. 

    Hosts: We encourage institutions and groundwater groups in close proximity to each other to partner prior to submitting their request. Parent and chapter organizations are strongly encouraged to collaborate on one venue. 

    Facility:  Your physical venue should be able to accommodate at least 50 people. In-person presentation sites must be able to accommodate the use of PPT (including a computer) with a remote advance and a microphone appropriate for the room. Hosts for virtual sites will be responsible for providing the video conferencing platform.

    Schedule:  Lecture dates are January 5, 2026 through November 30, 2026. 

    Conferences and Events: If the Darcy Lecture is part of a larger event, individuals cannot be charged a fee to attend the lecture.

    In-Person Hosts: As an in-person host, your institution or organization is responsible for providing the following accommodations and support for the Lecturer:

    • Lodging: Hotel accommodations (room and tax) for the Lecturer, typically for the night prior to the event and, if necessary, the night of the lecture. A prepaid hotel confirmation must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the presentation date.
    • Meals: All meals during the Lecturer’s stay.
    • Transportation: Ground transportation to and from the airport or train station.
    • Audio/Visual Support: Required A/V equipment as specified in advance.
    • Hybrid Option: Hosting a hybrid (in-person/virtual) event is permitted; however, recording of the lecture is strictly prohibited.
    • Evaluation: Hosts are required to complete an online evaluation form following the event.

    Virtual Hosts: Your institution will be responsible for providing the Lecturer with the following:

    • Designating a moderator to introduce the Lecturer and pose submitted questions
    • Video conferencing platform
    • Host must complete an online evaluation form. 

    Authority: Hosts will be asked to attest they have the authority to represent their institution or organization and agree with the terms as stated.

    Video: Only the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) has the authority to record any  Darcy Lecture presentations. NGWA will record the lectures and post them on the appropriate website at the end of the Lecturer’s term. Hosts will also be asked to attest that no recording of the lecture will occur.
