    The association abides but the Basketball Queensland Players Code of Behaviour which states:

    a. play by the rules;

    b. never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the official during a break or after the competition;

    c. control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any sport;

    d. work equally hard for yourself and/or your team. Your team’s performance will benefit, so will you;

    e. be a good sport. Applaud all good plays whether they are made by your team or the opposition;

    f. treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor;

    g. cooperate with your coach, team-mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition;

    h. participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches;

    i. respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion;

    j. refrain from engaging in negative or destructive discussion or postings on social media about players, coaches, spectators, officials, administrators or other basketball participants, that may be viewed as abusive, harassing or offensive in nature.

  • Release and Permission to Use Photographic Images And Waiver of Liability

    During attendance at Suncoast Spinners Programs, attendees/ members/players consent to the following;

    1. Use, publication and reproduction by SUNCOAST SPINNERS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL INC. its employees, officers, contractors or agents of photographs (‘Photographs’) and Video of me for the purposes of advertising, media publicity, general display or for any other club purposes in whole or in part, including on the clubs website or in social media, and as a consequence, Photographs/Video may be transferred outside Australia.

    2. agree that the use, publication or reproduction of the Photographs/video may occur by any medium, including but not limited to newspapers, magazines, brochures, television advertisements, promotional content and websites, including social media outlets.

    3. agree that the rights granted to SUNCOAST SPINNERS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL INC. under this release and waiver are perpetual and I hereby waive any interest that I may have in the copyright to the Photographs/video now or at any future time. I acknowledge that I do not expect to receive any payment or any other consideration in connection with the taking, use or storage of the Photographs/video.

    4. acknowledge and agree that any use of the Photographs/Video is, at the date of publication, made in good faith and is not intended to defame, offend, or bring my reputation into disrepute.

    5. release SUNCOAST SPINNERS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL INC., its employees, officers, contractors and agents from any liability (including consequential loss) connected with the publication, reproduction, or release of the Photographs/video.

  • Insurance

  • The Association holds Public Liability Insurance to the value of $20 million.

     

    Personal injury insurance

    Personal injury insurance is not covered. All participants should organise appropriate insurance relative to their sport and individual circumstances.

     

    Ambulance Fees

    All non-Queensland residents that use the Queensland Ambulance Service will be invoiced for the service. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they are covered for this expense via their own state’s ambulance membership, private health insurance or travel insurance.

  • I understand that it is a requirement on attendance that my name and contact details will be provided to the  Moreton Bay Regional Council and I maybe contacted by the council for feedback as a participant of this wheelchair basketball program.

  • By submitting this registration, I agree to comply with the Suncoast Spinners Conditions of Entry, Code of Conduct and to follow the instruction of Suncoast Spinners Staff.

    I understand by not complying with Suncoast Spinners staff or breach of club policy will result in my imediate removal from the program.

     

    I understand childeren can not be left unatened, a parent or guardian must remain courtside during the program.
