Opera Idaho will hold in-person auditions on May 30, 2026. Anyone wishing to audition must email to request an audition time. Audition time slots will be assigned individually to each applicant. Space is extremely limited. To request an audition spot, email andy@operaidaho.org Please put "May 30 Audition Request" in the subject line for your email. Filling out this form does not guarantee an audition time. You must email for a time spot. 

Anyone who wishes to be considered for mainstage roles (principal, comprimario, or cover), solo opportunities (Operatinis, educational and community engagement performances, or ticketed recitals/concerts), and new chorus or ensemble opportunities may request an in-person audition or submit a video audition for consideration.

Please note that preference is given to Boise, Idaho-based and regional singers within driving distance of the Treasure Valley for cover, ensemble, chorus, educational, and community engagement opportunities. This helps meet the needs of our community while supporting Opera Idaho’s commitment to fostering and developing regional singing artists.

If you have questions, need assistance, or have not heard from a staff member regarding scheduling within two weeks of your submission, please contact auditions@operaidaho.org. Please note that the auditions email account is not monitored daily, and responses may take up to 1–2 weeks.

Please list the title, work, and composer of the pieces you wish to present at your audition in the next field. You may return to this application to change your selections at any time before your audition by clicking the link in the confirmation email you receive after submission.

To ensure a positive audition experience for both you and your pianist, please email PDFs of any non-standard or extremely difficult repertoire at least 48 hours in advance of your audition to Betsi@operaidaho.org.

You may also upload PDF copies of your repertoire with your headshot and resume. You must also bring hard copies of all pieces for the pianist to your in-person audition. Your music must be two-sided, hole-punched, bound in a 3-ring binder or similar, NO SHEET PROTECTORS.

Requirements for Video Submission:

You may submit 2 - 4 video links for consideration according to the repertoire requirements for the opportunities you are interested in.

Recordings should be recent, no more than 6 - 12 months old, and unedited whenever possible. Operatic repertoire should be performed in its entirety. Audition cuts are acceptable for Musical Theatre and contemporary repertoire.

All links must be publicly accessible and viewable. (No password-protected videos.) You can double check this by pasting your link into an incognito browser to ensure it is viewable.

Recordings with piano accompaniment are preferred. Please avoid production or orchestral recordings unless they are high quality, professional recordings. You and your face should be clearly visible and focused.
