• Nature Stewards Geelong application form

  • Thanks for your interest in the Nature Stewards course for Geelong in spring 2025.

    This is a 10-week course running each Saturday from 30 August - 15 November excluding 27 September and 1 November. 

    Typical classes run from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and there will 4-6 field trips (~3 hours length) held in the afternoons after class throughout the course.

    This is an introductory course best suited to those with little/no formal environmental education, who are willing to try or continue environmental volunteering and connect with their local nature spaces and community.

    The course fee for all residents of City of Greater Geelong is $175 full fee, $45 concession. For non-residents it is $350 full fee, $90 concession.

    This course has a maximum class size, and this application does not guarantee your place in the course. We will notify successful applicants of their place 2 weeks prior to course commencement.

    Please let us know here any requirements/access needs that you wish to share with us to enhance the accessibility of the course content and activities. Please be aware that typical field activities involve walking on uneven terrain, bending/crouching, and exposure to weather.

  • Scholarship expression of interest

    The Geelong Field Naturalists Club have kindly offered some scholarship places on your upcoming Nature Stewards course.

    These scholarships will cover your participant fee, whether full or concession. To be considered for these scholarships, the eligibility requirements are:

    • to write a reflection on your time in the Nature Stewards course after graduation
    • to be willing to try and hopefully join a local environmental volunteer or citizen science group
    • and/or looking to undertake further training / study to move into the Nature Resource Management sector, or change roles etc.
