Please save the date and join us for Virginia’s Buffer Summit, hosted by the Upper & Middle James Riparian Consortium in partnership with the Rappahannock River Roundtable, Shenandoah Valley Conservation Collaborative, and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
There will be an exciting line-up of speakers, activities, and networking opportunities that will showcase the benefits of buffers, the impact of Riparian Consortium and its community of partners, and how to collaborate and create healthy streamside ecosystems for clean water across the Commonwealth.
The Buffer Summit will be held in person on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Pre-Session offered: 7:15 - 8:45 am Bird Walk with Justin Proctor, Virginia Working Landscapes - Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative (limit of 20 participants)
Mentorship Sessions: This year we are pleased to offer a series of small group virtual networking and mentoring sessions with experts in the buffer field prior to the Summit. Virtual mentor sessions will run October 6th through October 13th. Learn more and sign up for a session at this link.
