2025-26 University Scholarship Application

NOTE! This application for current EMU undergraduate students who do NOT already have a bachelors degree or scholarship funding (Second Bachelors, Graduate and prospective students are not eligible for funding via this application and will not be reviewed)
Please note applications for priority decisions were due June 15, 2025 and most scholarship funding has already been awarded. If you already have an EMU scholarship, there is no need to submit this application as it's unlikely we'll be able to offer any additional scholarship funding.

If you do not have any EMU scholarship funding and are submitting a late application please allow up to 2 weeks for an email decision. Keep in mind: only complete applications will be considered. Complete applications include a ONE PAGE essay and required letter of recommendation (and Canvas screenshots if submitting a mid-semester application). Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered for an award, nor will students be notified.

If you are currently enrolled and applying mid-semester (on/after 9/30/25 for Fall or 2/15/25 for Winter) please provide up-to-date Canvas screenshots for ALL courses with your current semester grades.

If eligible to file, all applicants must have a valid 2025-26 FAFSA on file.

Please note if your cumulative GPA is less than 2.75 a scholarship award will be unlikely.
To apply, students must submit a ONE PAGE essay with proper format, grammar, and mechanics that includes the following in a minimum 3 paragraphs: 1) Describe your academic and career goals, 2) Describe barriers, if any, to pursuing an undergraduate degree, 3) Demonstrate how have you positively contributed to EMU: include any clubs, organizations, extra curriculars and/or positions held.

To apply, students must submit a RECOMMENDATION LETTER. Recommendations are welcome from faculty, EMU staff, work supervisors and/or community professionals (i.e. clergy, teachers, principals). Recommendations from friends or relatives will not be considered. Athletic coaches may not write letters of recommendation for scholarship applicants who are members of an EMU athletic team.
