  • Smartest Artist is an educational art studio.

Studying the fine arts requires determination, practice, and patience. I have very high expectations of my students and I am confident that they can reach them!

    Monthly Billing:

Smartest Artist is billed monthly. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the school year as well as summer unless otherwise specified in writing by the parent/guardian before the next billing cycle. Your monthly draft will appear on bank statements as “SMARTESTARTIST/CARE.”  Minimum enrollment: 2 consecutive months.

    Makeup classes:

While we do not offer refunds for missed classes, we provide flexible makeup options to accommodate our students. Students have the opportunity to double up on classes in another week or attend events, subject to space availability. Please note any unused makeup classes will no longer be available once a student withdraws from Smartest Artist.

    Class Cancellations:

In the rare event that Smartest Artist needs to cancel a class, the following policies apply: Studio-Initiated Cancellations: If a cancellation occurs due to studio circumstances, we will issue a full refund. Inclement Weather: Classes canceled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled. No refunds will be provided. Force Majeure: For cancellations caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or other major incidents, classes will be rescheduled. No refunds will be provided.

    Communication:

Upon enrolling your child in classes at Smartest Artist, you are agreeing to receiving text and email communication from the studio.

Please feel very welcome to reach out to me via text, email, or phone. Also, I love receiving pictures of your artist’s artwork done outside of class!

    Supplied Materials:

The Smartest Artist provides all materials for class. Smartest Artist materials may not leave the studio.  Your student is welcome to bring a water bottle and a snack.

    Drop-off and Pick-up Policy:

Drop-off Location: You may drop off your student on 3500 East in front of the studio. Please ensure a safe drop-off by rolling to a near stop before your child exits the car.

Parking Options: Parking is available in lots to the North, South, or West of the building. Street parking on 3500 East is also available.

It is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure safe and timely pick-up and drop-off.

    Important Note:

The Smartest Artist is NOT responsible for children/students before or after their registered class hours. Parents or children may enter the classroom no earlier than FIVE MINUTES before class start time unless asked nicely and arranged beforehand.

Late pick-up or early drop-off will result in additional charges to your credit card on file. Flagrant earliness or lateness without communication will incur my babysitting fee, which is unreasonably high. (Please know that I understand that caca occurs and I am here to support you and your family! The afore mentioned policy pertains only to willful and rude disrespect of my time :))

Students must remain inside of the studio until picked up by parent/guardian. Students who walk or drive home may not leave the premises before class is over.

    Pre-K & Kinder Class:

Age Requirement:  Artists must be at least 4 years old and currently attending a Pre-K program to enroll in PreK-1st classes. Bathroom Independence: Children must be fully independent in using the bathroom to attend classes without adult supervision. This includes flushing toilet and proper hygiene. If a child requires assistance in the bathroom, a parent or guardian must be present during the class.

    Potential Messiness:

While The Smartest Artist emphasizes neat and responsible studio practices, it is possible that your student may get paint, glue, glitter, oil pastel, or other materials on their clothing during the creative process. Aprons are provided to minimize mess, and responsible use of all supplies is emphasized at all times.

    Cell Phone Policy:

Connectedness: While staying connected with your student is important and welcome, recreational cell phone use during class is discouraged.

Participation: Students are expected to be present and actively participating in class at all times.

Music Listening: During independent work time, students are very welcome to listen to music with headphones if they wish. However, they should be open to pausing their music for dialogue, discourse, and feedback. I do not repeat instructions missed while headphones are worn.

Visual references: Students are very welcome to bring phones or tablets to class to search for and use visual references.

Discouraged Activities: Video games, social media scrolling, and continual texting are discouraged during class time.

The studio does not monitor or take responsibility for student internet use.

    Photography Policy:

Promotion: Photographing studio activities is the best way to promote Smartest Artist.

Privacy Protection: Student’s names and faces will not be posted on Smartest Artist  social media or marketing material. Any student faces or identifying details that are posted have been specifically approved with verbal or written permission from parent or guardian.

Artwork Photography: Artwork posted on social media or The Smartest Artist's website will not be attached to student names for privacy. If you prefer not to have your student's artwork photographed, please inform me, and it will not happen.
