1. During the Spring, an AAU member will act as Elections Officer for the Campus and call for nominations for the position of AAU representative(s). If you are a current Campus Representative, you will need to follow the same procedure as other candidates and re-offer. A listing of Campus Representatives’ duties can be found in our Members Portal under AU Bylaws, Section VII.
2. If, at the close of nominations, the number of nominees is equal to or fewer than the number of eligible AAU representatives, then those nominees will be acclaimed as the Campus representative(s). This will lead to a call for nominations for additional AAU representatives and/or AAU alternate representative(s).
3. If, at the close of nominations, the number of nominees is greater than the number of eligible AAU representative and alternate positions, a vote by secret ballot shall take place to determine which nominees will be the AAU representative(s) and which nominees will be the AAU alternate representative(s).
4. The nominee(s) who receive the greatest number of votes shall be the AAU Representative(s). The AAU representative and AAU alternate representative positions shall be filled in sequence, starting with the nominee who received the greatest number of votes in descending vote count order, until all AAU representative positions are filled followed by the AAU alternate representative position(s).
