TAP (Teen Arts Program) 1, is a 2-year program designed for artistically driven 7th and 8th graders, pairing them with creative mentors to build both artistic and social-emotional skills. As the first stage of our scaffolded curriculum, TAP 1 establishes a consistent mentor-student relationship that provides guidance throughout their creative journey. Meeting 1-2x a month at the Free Arts studio or NYC cultural venues, creative mentors help students develop competitive portfolios for specialized high school applications. Students participate in monthly workshops focused on NYC DOE Portfolio Audition Requirements.
