Position: Volunteer Committee Chair
Reports to: Chamber Leadership Status: Volunteer Position
Overview:
The Volunteer Committee Chair plays a vital leadership role in organizing and managing the Chamber’s volunteer efforts. This position ensures that volunteers are effectively recruited, engaged, and coordinated to support Chamber programs, events, and initiatives. The Chair fosters a positive and productive volunteer culture while ensuring alignment with the Chamber’s mission.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead the Volunteer Committee, ensuring members are engaged and motivated.
- Serve as the primary contact for volunteer-related inquiries.
- Recruit and oversee volunteers for Chamber events and initiatives.
- Establish clear expectations for volunteer roles and responsibilities.
Event & Program Support
- Coordinate volunteer efforts for Chamber events, including the Farmers' Market, networking mixers, fundraisers, and community activities.
- Develop schedules and assignments to ensure sufficient coverage.
- Ensure volunteers receive necessary training and resources.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to encourage volunteer participation.
- Promote volunteer opportunities through Chamber communications, social media, and networking efforts.
- Represent the Chamber in public and community settings, ensuring volunteer efforts align with business and community needs.
Administrative & Reporting
- Track volunteer hours, participation, and contributions to Chamber programs.
- Provide regular updates to Chamber leadership on volunteer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with Chamber policies, including liability and membership requirements.
