    Big Splash Festival - The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre

  • Big Splash is back this July! 

    Wales' largest FREE outdoor arts festival is returning to Newport on the weekend of 19-20 July, with fantastic street theatre, dance performances, live music, workshops, and craft activities for all the family. 

    We rely on our Volunteers to support our teams to deliver this amazing festival, and would love for you to get involved!

    Volunteering roles available inlcude:

    • Green Room Hosts
    • Festival Runners
    • Zone Helpers
    • Feedback Champions

    Please note that Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over with the exception of our Green Room Hosts where you must be aged 16 years or over.

    Please complete the application form in full to help us assess and determine where your experience or enthusiasm will be best suited.

    There will be a Volunteers training session prior to the festival which you will be required to attend in person at the Riverfront on either Tuesday 15 July OR Wednesday 16 July from 5.30pm until 7.30pm.

  • Volunteer Training

    All chosen volunteers will need to attend a training session ahead of the festival. This will cover important information such as an introduction to Big Splash, a walk-through of the sites, safeguarding, anti-terrorism and data protection. Manual handling training will also be provided via a short online course for those in the role of Festival Runner.

  • My Skills and Experiences

    Please outline your relevant skills and experiences to help us understand how you can best help us at the Festival; please include information on any relevant qualifications you may have too
