Submit your technical abstract for consideration at the second annual SmallSat Europe, taking place at the RAI in Amsterdam, May 26-28, 2026. The conference will feature a variety of original papers, each to be presented in a 15-minute oral session and published in the official proceedings. Abstracts should focus on advancements in small satellite technology, including (but not limited to) systems design, integration and testing, mission operations, payload innovation, ground architecture, launch preparation, and enabling software, autonomy, and analytics.

The objective is to introduce your original research or novel concepts to a wide technical audience and engage with feedback from the broader SmallSat community.

Paper Requirements

Objective:

The purpose of the presentation is to disseminate original research or novel concepts, to contribute to the formal record of knowledge through publication, and to engage with constructive feedback from the broader SmallSat industry. Submitted abstracts should clearly articulate the relevance and potential contributions of the paper and presentation to the advancement of the SmallSat community. Authors are encouraged to present findings that are not only innovative but also suitable for peer dissemination, technical discussion, and inclusion in the conference proceedings or associated publications.

Selection:

Abstracts are evaluated by the Technical Committee based on the following criteria:
- Originality of the work
- Technical depth and appropriateness of content
- Relevance and value to the conference audience
- Absence of promotional or marketing focus
Please note: Abstracts that serve primarily as marketing or sales material will not be accepted.

Format:

The information requested when submitting an abstract includes:
- Primary Topic
- Additional Related Topics
- Abstract Title, as it should appear in the Conference Program
- Unclassified Abstract (150-300 words), as it should appear in the Conference Program. We recommend that your abstract include the goal of your research, methodologies used, and expected outcomes, with applicability.
- Presenter and author details.
- Final submission are advised to follow IEEE format for conference proceedings, but the standard is not required: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates
Submission Terms:

Accepted authors consent to the following requirements:
- Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present if accepted.
- A primary author may submit a maximum of two abstracts. There is no limit to the number of times an author may be credited as a co-author. For individuals submitting more than one abstract, if both are accepted, a co-author must present one of the papers and be approved by the conference organizing committee in advance.
- The designated presenter must be the author or co-author and must be registered to attend the conference.
- All presenters must submit a complete technical paper prior to the deadline. No paper and clearance means no podium presentation.
- Failure to meet deadlines and requirements will jeopardize future acceptance. The conference committee reserves the right to cancel or re-allocate a presentation.
- Author notifications will be sent January 23rd 2026.
