Pollinator Partnership Canada (P2C), with generous funding from Birks, is seeking to provide native plant seed for pollinator habitat projects in the following cities and surrounding areas:
- Vancouver
- Calgary
- Montréal
- Toronto
- Ottawa
- Quebec City
In the application you will have the opportunity to request seed packs of two species native to your region. However, if you are involved in a larger habitat restoration project, please indicate this at the end of the application as there may be some opportunity to send larger quantities of native seed mix for appropriate projects.
We are particularly interested in pollinator habitat projects that engage with their surrounding communities. If your project involves members of the public through outreach events, field trips, volunteer activities, educational workshops, or other community-focused events, please provide details of that in your application.
Applications for individual home gardens will be considered, but priority will be given to projects that engage a group or community in some way.
Examples of appropriate pollinator habitat projects include but are not limited to the following:
- shared community gardens
- school ground teaching gardens
- multiple front yard gardens or boulevard gardens on the same street that together create a “pollinator pathway”
For projects that are selected, P2C will coordinate with a vendor on the shipment of seed to the awardee and it will be the awardee’s responsibility to sow the seed and maintain the habitat. All species provided will be native to the region.
Seed will be distributed to awardees either in September of 2025 or April of 2026. Please indicate in your application when you would prefer to receive seed if awarded.
If you have a pollinator habitat project in an eligible city that would benefit from native plant seed, apply today!
Thank you!
