Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the Ugly Sweater 5k. The Metropolitan Children's Advocacy Center is committed to the fight against child abuse, one of the ugliest aspects of life. Friends of the Met CAC is committed to supporting the Met CAC as they strive to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Today we are asking you to join us by supporting our annual Ugly Sweater 5K on December 13, 2025. This event is an exciting addition to Columbia’s running community as we invite runners of all levels to wear their ugliest holiday sweater to shine a light on the ugliness of child abuse that exists in our communities. Sponsorships start as low as $100, and are a great way to show your support for the Met CAC’s mission of helping child victims of suspected abuse.

Located in the heart of Forest Acres, the Met CAC provides services to children of all ages who are suspected victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and other types of maltreatment. Serving approximately 1000 children annually, the Met CAC is a partnership of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and the Children’s Hospital of Prisma Health. It primarily receives its referrals from law enforcement and child protective services personnel across a 17-county region, with Richland county as its primary focus.

By submitting this form, the sponsor agrees to the terms outlined in the sponsorship levels and commits to providing the selected sponsorship amount by December 13, 2025. The organizer reserves the right to allocate benefits based on the sponsorship level and payment received.

The Friends of the Metropolitan Children’s Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization established to support the mission of the Met CAC. The Friends provide
equipment and funds for specialized training to help the medical team and forensic
interviewers identify child abuse and neglect.
