The Student Liaison is a non-voting, ex-officio member of the Traverse City Human Rights Commission, appointed by the Commission Board. The student member shall be in high school at the time their term begins and shall serve a two-year term. The student member shall actively participate in Commission discussions, contributing to its mission of promoting human dignity through advocacy, education, and community engagement. The Student Liaison will help support the Commission’s efforts to foster mutual respect, discourage discrimination, and promote inclusive practices through educational initiatives and collaborative outreach.
