FUSION is committed to supporting artists through meaningful programs and workshops.
Next Practice is a FUSION mentorship program for eight established artists working in clay or glass who are ready to take the next step in their practice.
This is your chance to pause, reflect, and push your work in new directions. Through sustained mentorship and critical dialogue, you will deepen the ideas driving your practice and develop a new body of work with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
This mentorship includes a two-week exhbition of work made under the mentorship (Gallery TBD). In addition, all work will be professionally photographed for your portolio.
Location:
Sessions will be held at Swansea Town Hall in Toronto.
Schedule:
There will be 8 four hour in-person group mentorship sessions held between October 2026 - October 2027 on the following Saturdays:

Application Deadline:
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Selected participants will be notified via email by September 30, 2025, and will be invoiced at that time.
Cost:
$1500 for FUSION Members
This fee includes 8 sessions with Rachel Gotlieb, a culminating 2-week group show in Toronto (Gallery TBD), professional photography and an article in FUSION magazine. All fees are subject to HST. If you wish to pay in two installments, we can also arrange this.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Please ensure you are a current FUSION member. You must remain a member in good standing throughout the Mentorship Program.
Prepare the following documents and images:
A COVER LETTER (in Word or PDF format) indicating that you are applying to the mentorship and stating that you:
• are committed to the process and will attend all meetings at the locations described above and participate in the final exhibition
• will pay the fee of $1500 (plus HST) for FUSION members if selected to participate
• are prepared to set goals in consultation with the mentor
• will challenge yourself to take risks with your work
• will have your work featured online and in FUSION magazine
Please include a CV (maximum two pages, Word or PDF) and a brief ARTIST STATEMENT (Word or PDF) that includes your reason for seeking to participate.
We also ask for 10 JPEG images that show a current body of work so Rachel Gotlieb can see where you are with your body of work.
