    Welcome!

    This setup guide will walk you through installing, setting up, and logging into the core software we use at EmpowerED to support your work.

    Once you've completed this setup, we’ll move on to a dedicated tech training session to ensure you know how to efficiently use the systems we rely on every day.

  • 🌐 EmpowerED Browser Standard: Google Chrome

    EmpowerED uses Google Chrome as the standard browser for accessing internal platforms, apps, and services. If you don’t have Chrome installed on your Windows computer, follow the steps below to get set up:

    💻 How to Install Google Chrome on Windows

    1. Open your current browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, or Firefox).
    2. Go to the Chrome download page: https://www.google.com/chrome
    3. Click “Download Chrome”.
    4. Accept the Terms & Conditions by clicking “Accept and Install”.
    5. Run the installer:
      • A file called ChromeSetup.exe will download.
      • Click the file to begin installation.
    6. Let Chrome install (this may take a minute or two).
    7. Once complete, Chrome will open automatically. You can also find it via the Start Menu.
    8. Optional: Set Chrome as your default browser via Settings > Apps > Default Apps.

  • 🛠️ There’s a bit more to finish setting up in Chrome, but for now, we’re moving on to other parts of your tech setup.

    🔄 We’ll circle back to Chrome shortly to complete everything and make sure you’re good to go!

  • Front App

    Front is a collaborative email platform that enables efficient email management and communication.

    On this page, you'll:

    1. Accept the Front Invitation
    2. Download the Front App
    3. Connect your Outlook Account to Front
  • Accept the Front Invitation

    1. Search "Front" in your outlook

    2. Open the email with your Front Invitation

    3. Click the "Join Team" button

    4. Follow the prompts to set up your email with your username and password.

  • ✅ You’re now logged into Front through the browser.
    📥 Next, we’ll download the Front app so you can log in there too.
  • Microsoft Teams

    Empowered uses Microsoft Teams for internal communication, including chat and calls with teammates.

    Please check if you already have Teams downloaded by searching in your Windows Search bar.

    If Teams show up as an app, it is already installed:

  • 🚀 Now that Teams is installed, let's log in!

    Follow these steps to sign in using your EmpowerED email address:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams
    2. Enter Your EmpowerED Email
      Type in your EmpowerED email address (e.g., yourname@empower-edu.com) and click Next.
    3. Enter Your Password
      Use the password you created when you accepted your Microsoft invitation.
    4. Complete Any Authentication Steps
      If prompted, complete multi-factor authentication using the Microsoft Authenticator app or a verification code.
    5. All Set!
      You’re now logged in and ready to use Microsoft Teams—your hub for chats, meetings, files, and collaboration at EmpowerED.
  • Dialpad

    Empowered uses Dialpad as a critical tool for daily operations, facilitating both external communication with
    our clients and our client’s vendors, employees, parents and donors.

  • 🧭 Getting Started: Set Up Your EmpowerED Google Profile

    We're now moving back into Google profile setups. First, let’s create a Google Account—this will serve as your personal EmpowerED Google profile, where you can:

    • Bookmark important links (like clocking in, PTO requests, etc.)
    • Access Google Drive, Docs, Calendar, YouTube, and more
    • Use your existing Microsoft email (no need for a new Gmail)
  • ✅ Create a Google Account Using a Microsoft Email

    1. Visit the Sign-Up Page

    Go to: https://accounts.google.com/signup

    2. Enter your Personal details

    • Your First & Last Name
    • Your Birthdate
    • Your Gender

    → Click Next

    Instead of choosing an email from the options, click the "Use your existing email" button, to the left of the next button.

    4. Enter your Empowered Email

    5. Verify your email

    Google sends a verification code to your Outlook inbox.
    → Check your email → Enter the code → Continue

    6. Add a recovery method

    • Phone number (for recovery)
    • Recovery email (optional)

    → Click Next

    7. Accept Google’s Terms

    Review the Privacy & Terms
    → Click “I agree”

    🎉 You’re All Set!

    You now have a Google Account tied to your Microsoft email.
    Use it across all EmpowerED tools, resources, and bookmarks going forward.
